Mid-State Correctional Facility

Miller-Remick has provided consulting engineer services since 2001 for the Mid-State Correctional facility at the Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey. One of our more prominent projects included engineering and construction management services to replace the existing built-up roof system. The replacement, approximately 76,000 SF in area, consisted of a new 4-ply built-up roof system including insulation, copings, flashings, etc. The design included repairs to deteriorated decks, walls and parapets. Five new HVAC systems were designed as part of this project as well as replacement of all roof mounted electrical conduit and wiring. A structural analysis of the existing roof structure was completed for the additional weight of the roof system, HVAC units and access hatches.
